- They cannot be obtained from cards
- The maximum amount that can be stored is determined by research
- Imperial Points generate slowly over time
- Having a seat in the Senate will also provide additional Imperial Points

- Imperial Points are used to capture Resource Towns and Barbarian Strongholds on the Empire Map
- Imperial Points are used to export resources from your city to a local capital
- Imperial Points are used to import resources from capitals to your city's wharves
