If you are unable use chickens in the trail and/or the 2nd trial crashes. There is a workaround this problem to do this do the following -

1. In Steam disable Cloud saving - Settings, Cloud, Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for applications which support it
Restart Steam

2. Save your last missions played and exit the game.

3. Delete the crusader.cfg and crusaderExtreme.cfg files

4. Run the game and load in the save game.
