We are investigating this issue and hope to have a solution soon.

Please check your NVIDIA Control Panel and see if you have Vertical Sync enabled in the Nvidia Control Panel? Setting Vertical Sync to Off has resolved the issue for some users.

Please also check your antivirus software and add an exception for Stronghold: Definitive Edition.

Lastly, please try running the game as Administrator.

To do this

1-Locate the game in your Steam Library and Right-Click on It

2-Go to Manage > Browse Local Files

3-In the folder that opens right-click on Stronghold 1 Definitive Edition.exe

4-Select "Run as Administrator"

If none of these things work, please contact us with the follow attachments.

Send us your Player.log file.

To find this file please follow these steps

  1. Open your a windows explorer window
  2. In the address bar, go to the address %APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Firefly Studios\Stronghold 1 Definitive Edition
  3. Locate the Player.log file in this folder
  4. Reply to this ticket with the Player.log as an attachment.

Please provide us with your dxdiag file.

To get your Dxdiag file, you need to :

Windows 10

  1. Type 'DxDiag' in the search bar
  2. Click on Save All Information
  3. Save the DxDiag.txt file somewhere you can locate it

Windows 7

  1. Click on Start
  2. Click Run
  3. Type Dxdiag
  4. Click on Save All Information
  5. Save the DxDiag.txt file somewhere you can locate it
